Emily Dickinson

You know, people in my English class may call Emily Dickinson a freak. They may call her a nature freak. They might even call her gay. But Emily Dickinson was a good poet. She didn't write about nature all of the time. Her poems about love are great. Like, Heart, We Will Forget Him.

Heart, we will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

Then there's this poem called I'm Nobody! Who Are You?

I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us — don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.
How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!

I think I have a lot in common with Emily Dickinson. Then again, how would I know?
